Tesla Solar Roof From Order to Installation

A common question we receive about Solar Roof is regarding the duration from order to installation. There isn’t a fixed timeline due to varying local permitting and utility timelines, but a general window is typically one month to six months, depending on the location of your home or building. The required work for installation also depends on your roof; while Tesla Solar Roof can be installed on most roofs, not all roofs are eligible for this type of construction. A licensed Phoenix roof inspector will determine the eligibility of your existing roof. If it doesn't meet the criteria for a Solar Roof, we will inform you at the end of the inspection and can discuss additional solar options that may still benefit you.

When Installation Begins

When installation officially begins, we do require that someone 18 years or older be home for at least the first two hours to allow access to needed areas; additional site access might be required as the progress continues. We will always inform you and coordinate with you to determine what access is needed.

Installation Time-Frame

The installation crew typically needs five to seven business days to complete the installation for smaller roofs, and 14-28 days for much larger roofs. Of course, time-frames always vary. However, we will always keep you updated with the schedule to avoid surprises.

As with all construction projects, the price will vary due to the size, complexity, and steepness of your roof. One thing to note is that the price of a Tesla Solar Roof is comparable to high-end roofing products such as wood, slate, and metal.
