Challenge
When the client decided to build a new construction home, they had one primary goal: to make their home as close to net-zero carbon neutral as possible. Phoenix Exteriors stood out as the only Certified Tesla Solar Roofer in the Chicagoland area, making us the perfect partner for this ambitious project.
Solution
To meet the client’s sustainability goals, Phoenix Exteriors installed an impressive 26kW Tesla Solar Roof system, paired with two Tesla Powerwall 3 storage batteries. These batteries provide reliable power during outages and enable the client to use stored solar energy during the evenings. Additionally, we integrated a SPAN smart panel for advanced energy management, a black standing seam roof for aesthetic and functional durability, and several Velux skylights to enhance natural lighting throughout the home.
Results
The installation was designed to produce approximately 30,000 kWh of clean energy annually. This level of energy production offsets a significant amount of carbon dioxide—equivalent to planting 545 trees each year. The project included a total of 8,800 square feet of Tesla Solar Roof, making it one of the largest and most efficient solar installations in the area.
Impact
With the capacity to generate 30,000 kWh of renewable energy per year, the client’s home is now a model of sustainability. This project demonstrates how modern technology and innovative design can contribute to a healthier planet—one home at a time.
